PE (HDPE) is the workhorse of opaque bottles: chemically resistant, tough enough to survive drops, and naturally matte, with no glass-like gloss to compete with the label. Unlike PET and PETG it blocks light, so it suits actives that degrade on the shelf, and it stays cost-efficient at large volumes. Typical bottles: shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, body wash and light-sensitive formulas.
PET is the default when the bottle has to show the product: crystal clarity, high gloss and a low cost per unit. It is stiffer than PE and cheaper than PETG, and single- or multi-layer co-extruded structures can add a barrier layer for light-sensitive formulas. Typical bottles: toner, makeup remover, shampoo, body wash and hand soap — 300 ml and 500 ml are standard retail sizes.
PETG keeps the transparency of PET and adds impact resistance — thicker walls, no cracking or shattering, and a heavier, premium feel in the hand. It also stands up better to acids and alcohols, at a higher unit cost than PET. Typical bottles: thick-wall premium skincare, makeup and gift-set packaging where the bottle itself has to look substantial.
PCR resins reuse post-consumer plastic; bio-based compounds swap part of the polymer,for plant fiber like wheat straw or sugarcane. Both cut virgin fossil content and run on your existing moulds.
